"Bread of Life Ministries exists to provide food for the hungry, shelter to the homeless, and services that help people change their lives and take personal responsibility. God calls us to minister to one another and assist those in need"
| Starting in 2002, Transitional Housing has had a huge, positive impact in helping individuals and families settle into some level of direction and future toward ending homelessness. | |
After being evaluated and offered opportunities for change, our guests get to move into a transitional housing unit and may stay up to 2 years. During this time, our staff in our Resource Center works with them to get them connected to such things as skills, education, health care, food, jobs and permanent housing. Our first unit of transitional housing came from Paul Blouin's car lot and was offered as a home available free if it could be moved. |

After renovations and a small addition, the first transitional housing unit became reality and is located just behind our homeless shelter on Hospital Street. We now have 8 units of transitional housing offering 2 and 3 bedroom units. In 2008, our most recent facility located on Boothby Street offers an additional 9 units of short term transitional housing for families coming out of our homeless shelter
